If you are heading to Queen’s Club Championships 2026, you already know the tennis. What you might not have sorted is where to eat near Queen’s Club before the first match, or where to settle in properly after a long afternoon on court. The answer, if you ask anyone who knows this part of West London, is Fulham Road.
We have been cooking on Fulham Road since 2012. In that time we have watched Queen’s Club fortnight become one of the most anticipated two weeks in the SW6 calendar. Players, members, enthusiasts and first-timers all find their way to this corner of West London every June, and a good number of them find their way to our door before or after.
This is not a generic restaurant round-up. It is a considered guide from a kitchen that has been part of this neighbourhood for over twelve years, written for people who want to eat well on one of the best sporting days West London has to offer.
Manuka Kitchen is at 510 Fulham Road, London SW6 5NJ. Open daily from 9am for breakfast and brunch. Dinner Tuesday to Saturday from 5pm. Book a table here.
The morning: breakfast before the tennis
The Queen’s Club Championships 2026 runs from 8th to 21st June, with gates opening from around 10am daily and first matches typically starting at 11am. That timing creates a natural rhythm to the morning. You have time to eat properly before you go.
The walk from Manuka Kitchen to the Queen’s Club takes approximately 20 to 25 minutes on foot through residential West London streets. No tube connections, no delays, no fuss. Set off at 10am and you arrive in time for the gates, coffee still working, ready for whatever the day has in store.
A 9am start gives you a full hour on Fulham Road before you need to think about leaving. That is long enough to eat without rushing, order a second coffee and actually enjoy yourself before a day at the tennis.
The Eggs Benedict question
There is a reason Eggs Benedict has become the default pre-event breakfast for people who take these things seriously. It is substantial without being heavy. It gives you protein and sustenance without leaving you needing a sleep on the grass. Ours comes with smoked bacon, poached eggs and house hollandaise on sourdough, and it has been on the menu since we opened.
If you want something lighter before the walk, the crushed avocado on sourdough with red quinoa and feta is the one locals reach for on warm June mornings. If you are properly hungry and the day ahead is a long one, the Full Fulham sorts you out completely.
You can view our full breakfast and brunch menu. Worth a look the evening before so you know what you are ordering.
The coffee
We source our beans from Carmo da Cachoeira in the Minas Gerais region of Brazil, grown at 1,100 metres, naturally processed. The tasting notes are praline, dark chocolate and what the roaster calls Snickers. On a June morning before a day at the tennis, it is exactly what it should be.
If you want a second coffee before you leave, it is always there for £1.50. We think that is a fair price for not rushing.
Getting to Queen’s Club from Fulham Road
The walk is straightforward. Head north from Fulham Road through Barons Court and you arrive at the Queen’s Club grounds without ever needing to check a map. The route takes you through quiet residential streets rather than main roads, which makes it a genuinely pleasant 20 minutes, particularly when the weather is doing what June is supposed to do.
For those coming by tube, Barons Court on the District and Piccadilly lines is the closest station to the Queen’s Club. Fulham Broadway on the District line is five minutes walk from Manuka Kitchen. Transport for London has full journey planning if you are arriving from further afield.
One practical note: the streets around the Queen’s Club get congested on busy match days, particularly finals weekend. Walking from Fulham Road avoids all of that. It is also, on balance, a better way to start a day at the tennis than sitting in traffic.
Set lunch on Fulham Road during Queen’s Club fortnight
The Queen’s Club Championships runs for two weeks, which means there are plenty of days that do not revolve around a single long session on the outside courts. Lunchtime has a different tempo. You might catch a morning match, come off the grounds at midday and want somewhere calm and unhurried to sit before the afternoon programme.
Our set lunch runs Monday to Friday from 12pm to 5pm: one course for £18, two for £24, three for £29.50. The full lunch menu is here. Wagyu beef bolognese, grass-fed bavette steak and market fish on a set lunch menu at that price point is, to put it plainly, unusual in SW6.
If you are attending over the weekend, the set lunch does not apply, but the full menu is available and the kitchen is running at the same standard. The asparagus starter and the seasonal specials are worth paying attention to at this time of year.
Why June is the right time to eat seasonally on Fulham Road
Queen’s Club fortnight falls in the middle of one of the best windows in the British food calendar. English asparagus is still in season. Peas are at their sweetest. Spring lamb is at its most tender. We have built the menu to reflect that, because it would be wasteful not to.
What is on the seasonal menu
The English asparagus starter comes with parsley white beans, capers and toasted almonds. It is a dish that works at lunch before the tennis and equally well at dinner after it. The creamy burrata with crushed English peas and a touch of prosecco is new to the menu this summer and has already become a favourite.
For mains, the slow roasted spring lamb with parsley puree and confit carrots is the considered choice for an evening meal after a long day on court. The wagyu beef bolognese has been on the menu since we opened in 2012 and shows no sign of leaving.
Asparagus season ends in mid-June. If you are attending the early rounds, these dishes will be there. By the final weekend, they may not. It is worth knowing.
Dinner near Queen’s Club: where to go after the tennis
By the end of a full day at the Queen’s Club, the area immediately around the grounds fills up. Restaurants on the surrounding streets get busy quickly, and the queue to get out by tube is not short. The instinct to stay put and wait it out is a reasonable one.
The 20-minute walk back to Fulham Road changes the situation entirely. By the time you arrive, you are away from the immediate crowd, the pace has shifted, and dinner feels like what it should be: the unhurried end to a good day, rather than a rushed compromise.
Manuka Kitchen serves dinner Tuesday to Saturday from 5pm. With 24 seats and an open kitchen, the room has the kind of scale that means you are genuinely looked after. The dinner menu is here. Booking ahead is always the right call during Queen’s Club fortnight.
Thursday Steak Night is worth knowing about if your evening falls on the right day. Grass-fed 8oz bavette, your choice of side and sauce, with a glass of house wine included. £24 per person, every Thursday from 5pm. It books up quickly during June.

Making the most of your Queen’s Club day
Queen’s Club fortnight is one of West London’s great annual moments. Grass courts, warm evenings, the particular energy of a city that genuinely cares about the tournament. It deserves a day that is properly organised around it.
The food is part of that. A good breakfast sets the tone. A proper dinner closes it. Both happen more easily on Fulham Road than they do in the scrum immediately around the grounds.
We have been here since 2012. We have a 4.5 rating across 500 Google and Tripadvisor reviews and 24 seats that fill up during June. The table is worth booking in advance.
A simple plan for your Queen’s Club day:
- Book your brunch table at Manuka Kitchen for 9am. Walk to the Queen’s Club by 10:15am.
- Check the set lunch menu in advance if you plan to return midday. It changes regularly.
- Book dinner before you go. Tables during Queen’s Club fortnight go quickly, particularly Thursday Steak Night.
- Walk back after the tennis rather than taking the tube. Twenty minutes, no crowds, a better end to the day.
